Whenthelaborerissickorsuffersfromnon-workrelatedinjury,amedicaltreatmentperiodwillbegivenaccordingtothelengthofserviceintheemployingunit.AccordingtotheprovisionsoftheMinistryofLaboronmedicaltreatmentperiod,suchperiodwilllastfor3to24months.Foremployeessufferingfromspecialillnesses(suchascancer,mentalillnessandparalysis)whocannotberecoveredwithin24months,withtheapprovaloftheenterpriseandthelocallabordepartment,themedicaltreatmentperiodmaybeproperlyextended.Thespecificstandardsareasfollows:(1)wheretheactuallengthofserviceislessthan10years,andthelengthofserviceintheemployingunitislessthan5years,themedicaltreatmentperiodwillbe3months;ifitismorethan5years,themedicaltreatmentperiodwillbe6months;(2)wheretheactuallengthofserviceismorethan10years,andthelengthofserviceintheemployingunitislessthan5years,themedicaltreatmentperiodwillbe6months;ifitismorethan5yearsbutlessthan10years,themedicaltreatmentperiodwillbe9months;ifitismorethan10yearsbutlessthan15years,themedicaltreatmentperiodwillbe12months;ifitismorethan15yearsbutlessthan20years,themedicaltreatmentperiodwillbe18months;ifitismorethan20years,themedicaltreatmentperiodwillbe24months.Themedicaltreatmentperiodiscalculatedfromthedateofsickleave,amedicaltreatmentperiodof3monthswillbecalculatedaccordingtoaccumulatedsickleaveperiodof6months.Foramedicaltreatmentperiodof6months,itwillbecalculatedaccordingtoaccumulatedsickleaveperiodwithin12months.Foramedicaltreatmentperiodof9months,itwillbecalculatedaccordingtoaccumulatedsickleaveperiodof15months.Foramedicaltreatmentperiodof12months,itwillbecalculatedaccordingtoaccumulatedsickleaveperiodof18months.Foramedicaltreatmentperiodof18months,itwillbecalculatedaccordingtoaccumulatedsickleaveperiodof24months.Foramedicaltreatmentperiodof24months,itwillbecalculatedaccordingtoaccumulatedsickleaveperiodof30months.Afterthemedicaltreatmentperiod,wherethelaborercannotengageintheoriginalworkorheisstillincompetentforthejob. ……
