Philip Pullman has won many distinguished prizes, including the Carnegie Medal for The Golden Compass (and the reader-voted "Carnegie of Carnegies" for the best children's book of the past seventy years); the Whitbread (now Costa) Book of the Year Award for The Amber Spyglass; a Booker Prize long-list nomination (The Amber Spyglass); Parents' Choice Gold Awards (The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass); and the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, in honor of his body of work. In 2004, he was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
Philip Pullman is the author of many books for young readers, including two volumes related to the His Dark Materials trilogy: Lyra's Oxford and Once Upon a Time in the North. He lives in Oxford, England.

The witch Serafina Pekkala, quoting an angel, sums up the central theme: "All the history of human life has been a struggle between wisdom and stupidity. The rebel angels, the followers of wisdom, have always tried to open minds; the Authority and his churches have always tried to keep them closed." Early on, this "Authority" is explicitly identified as the Judeo-Christian God, and he is far from omnipotent: his Kingdom is ruled by a regent. 　　似乎菲利普 普爾曼在完成《黃金羅盤》之後想把他這個故事改變成另一種風格，於是在後兩本中他試圖營造一種史詩的氣氛。但是說實話，他不是很成功。比起《魔戒》或者《基地》，《黑質三部麯》還是有一定距離。但是《黑質三部麯》仍不失為一個好故事。

我們已經知道瞭英語詞匯在英語語言中的重要性，而閱讀是掌握和記憶英語單詞的最佳手段。單獨地記憶單詞給人一種生澀的感覺，沒有語言的環境，也不知道該如何很好地使用這個單詞。閱讀文章的時候不但掌握瞭大量地信息，還很好地掌握瞭很多單詞的正確用法，一舉多得

　　說起來，這本書裏還摻雜瞭宗教元素，我覺得，這不過是一個噱頭。夏娃•萊拉自始至終沒讓我覺得她哪裏是夏娃瞭，而蛇•馬隆博士的引誘難道就是讓萊拉和威爾kiss麼？

買瞭黃金羅盤之後，就想把黑色物質的三部麯全部收入，但是一直沒活動，現在有瞭，趕緊買瞭。作者是我最喜歡的，菲利普·普爾曼20世紀以來最重要的英國童書作傢之一。畢業於牛津大學，曾任西敏學院兼任講師，教授維多利亞時期文學與民間故事，目前與傢人住在英國，專事寫作。除瞭青少年小說外，也撰寫劇本與圖畫書。
