1900年至1920年出版的美国的一系列童话故事《绿野仙踪》影响日后世界儿童文学至深。1908年出版的骑鹅历险记 瑞典著名作家塞尔玛·拉格洛夫写的一部著名的长篇童话小说，它也成了一部世界名著。 1937年出版的小说《哈比人历险记》，是J.R.R托尔金原本为儿子所写的一部童话，但托尔金此书在儿童文学界未有名气。之后1943年出版圣·埃克苏佩里所著之法国童话作品《小王子》，被译成百多种语言，也被拍成电影、改编成话剧演出。在1950年代由著名的英国作家克利夫·史戴普·路易斯所著《纳尼亚传奇》，成为英美儿童文学经典之一。纽伯瑞，英国著名出版家。1713年，纽伯瑞出生在英国农家。他是自学成才的儿童文学作家和出版家。1744年他编写并出版了世界上第一本专门的、价格低廉的儿童书：《美丽小书》；他开办了世界上第一家专门的儿童读物印刷厂、世界上第一家专门的儿童书店，从此他不断改进，印刷发行了许多精美的儿童图书，深受儿童喜欢，由于他打破当时保守的风气，崇尚的“快乐至上”的儿童教育观念，开辟英美儿童文学之路，被誉为“儿童文学之父”。 纽伯瑞奖，1922年由美国图书馆协会创立，每年面向全球优秀儿童文学作吕颁发金、银奖。多年来，它给全世界的孩子们带来了无数美妙动人的故事。1954年，罗伯特·罗素凭借着《兔子坡》一举赢得了美国纽伯瑞儿童文学奖金奖。为了纪念这一成就，他就把自己的家园命名为“兔子坡”。长久以来，《兔子坡》在很多国家或地区的畅销书排行榜上一直都名列前茅。它以活泼可爱的动物形象和引人入胜的故事情节弘扬了一种健康向上的精神，并且号召人们要爱护动物，与动物和平相处。这次又在京东买了几本儿童英文原版书，书都很不错，送货也快，书都很完整，但是较国内的书而言怎么那么贵呢，虽然折扣了，还是觉得价格不菲呀！
