作者简介

Stephen Farthing is a painter and the Rootstein Hopkins Research Professor in Drawing at the University of the Arts, London. He has been teaching fine arts since 1977 and his paintings are exhibited in galleries throughout the world.

字典式的读物，如果您真的想die之前看看，还不能满足

1001幅作品大致是从文艺复兴到现在的欧洲绘画变化和发展情况。版面不大，图片只有每页的一半大小并附有简要文字说明。不全是经典名作，大部分作品对于一个普通中国人来说都很陌生，近100年的现代绘画作品几乎占了一大半。对于世界美术史的研究（特别是近现代美术运动）是一个很好的了解与补充。
