George R. R. Martin is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of many novels, including the acclaimed series A Song of Ice and Fire—A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows, and A Dance with Dragons—as well as Tuf Voyaging, Fevre Dream, The Armageddon Rag, Dying of the Light, Windhaven (with Lisa Tuttle), and Dreamsongs Volumes I and II. 很好的书，里面有很多信息是小说本身没有的，有助于理解冰火的更多背景知识，不过包装太简单，四个书角都折了。

十六开的尺寸，全彩哑光无酸纸。内容上相当于维斯特洛大陆的学士书写的史书，叙述七大国和伊索斯大陆的历史，例如塔格利安家族的崛起，先民和森林之子的战争等。马丁和另外两人一起写的这本书，因为写的是历史，就没有冰与火之歌系列那么生动的描写，主要是叙述。极具性价比的一本，推荐推荐，对冰火迷是个极佳的选择。
