除瞭寫的時間比較久遠外（上個世紀80年代），整本小說體現瞭Stephen King的嚴謹風格，最重要的是他語言的多彩化，對於學習外語和瞭解美國人的生活有很大的幫助，隻是他一貫的恐怖風格還是阻止瞭很多人去購買的書。還有一點就是因為是上實際的書，好多高科技的東西都沒有描寫，甚是遺憾
