When Billy, a troubled young man, comes to private eye Cormoran Strike's office to ask for his help investigating a crime he thinks he witnessed as a child, Strike is left deeply unsettled. ##piebald, twin swans, and blanc de blanc — 這些小心思和小伏筆真是so exquisitely-executed, just like the murder. 那種近乎偏執的繁復環境描寫（這纔是真的可以讓人按圖索驥在倫敦逛一個月的書吧！）和復古人物刻畫（不管多minor的角色都要認真寫上一頁）裏無與倫比的實感真的可以讓人原諒（甚至愛上）謀殺發生前的三百頁，而後三百頁就太太好看瞭。也依舊沒忘記作為係列核心的social commentary，把左右兩頭從上到下都罵瞭一通，Izzy的那種“善良的虛僞”塑造得也太好瞭。各種隱秘的心理活動絕對滿分：采訪是一麵，另一麵robin和cormoran的互動就讀得滿臉姨母笑哈哈哈，再不發生點啥????立馬下單book 5!

評分##老實說隻有極少數作者能讓我讀一本600多頁的懸疑，有這個耐心且還能感覺不錯的，羅琳女士絕對是其中一人瞭。客觀地講，這本的故事主綫本身並不是這係列裏最令人熱血沸騰的，作者更側重抽絲剝繭找真相（你可以評價她描寫的這個過程細節化到極緻），還有羅琳標誌性的寫作特點：不管“戲份”多少，每個人物刻畫飽滿到讓人足以相信他們都是現實中人。這些都增加篇幅。所以不奇怪的，這本裏麵Strike和Robin的各自感情故事也得到更多筆墨。他們各自的問題，誤會和睏擾讓跟瞭一路的讀者會有些“不耐煩”，我讀的時候也有這個情緒，仔細一想還是因為作者把這些人物寫得太真實，讓人在意。看著你認識的“朋友”感情裏“犯傻”，很難忍住內心的焦慮。加上復雜的懸疑主綫，這確實是一本容易讓人感覺發展慢的書，但其實它並不是一個節奏拖遝的故事。
