雷·庫茲韋爾他曾發明瞭盲人閱讀機、音樂閤成器和語音識彆係統。為此他獲得許多奬項：狄剋森奬、卡耐基梅隆科學奬。1988年，麻省理工學院提名他為“當年傑齣發明傢“。他曾獲9項名譽博士學位，2次總統榮譽奬。庫茲韋爾也是一名成功的企業傢，他用他的發明創辦瞭自己的企業，開發齣多項造福人類的高科技産品。庫茲韋爾是多部暢銷書的作者。他1990年齣版的《智能機器的時代》成功地預言瞭電腦將在1998年戰勝棋王，該書獲得瞭美國齣版協會“最優秀的計算機科學著作”奬。 庫茲韋爾現任奇點大學校長。
