前言/序言
教育部教高〔2001〕4號文件中明確指齣要按照“教育麵嚮現代化、麵嚮世界、麵嚮未來”的要求,為適應經濟全球化和科技革命的挑戰,本科教育要創造條件使用英語進行公共課和專業課教學。同時,推行“雙語教學”必將促進教學改革、師資隊伍建設、學科發展和本科生的能力培養。然而,缺乏與“雙語教學”相適應的教材是開展“雙語教學”的“瓶頸”之一。關於“雙語教學”教材可有幾種形式:①直接采用原版教材,優點是語言上有優勢,並能充分吸取歐美國傢“診斷學”教學的先進理念;缺點是學生負擔太重,而且原版教材編寫體例與我國現有的規劃教材差距很大,如西方國傢沒有與我國“診斷學”相對應的教材,“診斷學”教材中的“實驗診斷”、“器械檢查”、“臨床常用診斷技術”等部分均未納入國外的“Physical examination”之中,而且體例相差很大:原版教材篇幅較大,實用性較差。②將中文版“診斷學”規劃教材翻譯成英文,優點是能與現有的教材匹配,學生的負擔不大,尤其目前在醫學生的英語應用能力較差的情況下,有助於與中文教材對照學習;何況我國“診斷學”教材經多次修訂,科學性和實用性強的優點很突齣;價格明顯低於原版教材,在學生經濟能力有限的情況下,該教材有助於推廣“雙語教學”的進程;缺點是難以保證英文質量。③綜閤上述兩種形式的優點,采用我國“診斷學”規劃教材的體例,參照原版教材的錶述方式,采取購買版權、整段摘用的形式,編寫成“英文改編版”,融人較多的國外先進的教學思想,如交流技巧,形成具有中國特色的“雙語教學”教材。本教材采用瞭第三種方式,以期成為具有鮮明特點的供醫學本科生使用的“診斷學”英文版教材。為此,科學齣版社與McGraw-Hill齣版公司經過友好協商,達成閤作協議,以尊重知識産權為前提,摘錄McGraw-Hill公司齣版的原版教材或專著,包括教材中的圖,編寫成適閤中國醫學教育所需的英文改編版係列教材。
