Kafka on the Shore is powered by two remarkable characters: a teenage boy, Kafka Tamura, who runs away from home either to escape a gruesome oedipal prophecy or to search for his long-missing mother and sister; and an aging simpleton called Nakata, who never recovered from a wartime affliction and now is drawn toward Kafka for reasons that, like the most basic activities of daily life, he cannot fathom.
As their paths converge, and the reasons for that convergence become clear, Haruki Murakami enfolds readers in a world where cats talk, fish fall from the sky, and spirits slip out of their bodies to make love or commit murder. Kafka on the Shore displays one of the world’s great storytellers at the peak of his powers.

评分Truly" An insistently metaphysical mind-bender." 用这本书结束了我的2011年。都是日语翻译来的,但我也强烈推荐读更加有冲击力的英文版。Murakami's words contain the power that keeps stirring up something deep in my heart. Loved it, but I only wish I'd read it when I was fifteen. It's a book that I'll definitely have go back to, every once in a while. Simply marvelous.

评分##村上的一贯风格,以一种as if taking magic for granted的方式给出答案。没有答案,有的就是无尽的浪漫。英文版读起来很顺,村上果然深受西方文化影响...
