Theodor Seuss Geisel - better known to millions of his fans as Dr. Seuss is quite simply the most beloved children’s book author in the world.

Brilliant, playful, and always respectful of children, Dr. Seuss charmed his way into the consciousness of four generations of youngsters and parents. In the process, he helped millions of kids learn to read.

Dr. Seuss was born Theodor Geisel in Springfield, Massachusetts, on March 2, 1904. After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1925, he went to Oxford University, intending to acquire a doctorate in literature.

Geisel published his first children's book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, in 1937, after 27 publishers rejected it.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1984, an Academy Award, three Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards, and three Caldecott Honors, Geisel wrote and illustrated 44 books. While Theodor Geisel died on September 24, 1991, Dr. Seuss lives on, inspiring generations of children of all ages to explore the joys of reading.

首先申明在這裏當托的遭天打雷劈。這鳥東西看上去還可以，結果買來一看就巴掌大，算上封麵12張紙，居然花我20元。和華潤玩傢的書比起來不管是質量還是內容。比這好多瞭也不，現在逐漸明白網上的東西有時候真的不比實體店便宜。這次網購真他娘的惡心

The Shape of Me and Other Stuff gives children the opportunity to identify all the amusing shapes throughout this book and match them to words. This is an important skill for 'pre-readers' and Dr. Seuss makes it extremely enjoyable! This is a blue-back book. Ideal for sharing with your child. The rhymes and repetition work with the pictures to help pre-readers recognise the words.

“圖書”一詞最早齣現於《史記·蕭相國世傢》，劉邦攻入鹹陽時，“何獨先入收秦丞相禦史律令圖書藏之。沛公為漢王，以何為丞相……漢王所以具知天下厄塞，戶口多少，強弱之處，民所疾苦者，以何具得秦圖書也”。這裏的“圖書”指的是地圖和文書檔案，它和我們今天所說的圖書是有區彆。進一步探求“圖書”一詞的淵源，可追溯到《周易·上係辭》記載的“河齣圖、洛齣書”這個典故上來，它反映瞭圖畫和文字的密切關係。雖然是神話傳說，但卻說明瞭這樣一個事實：文字起源於圖畫。圖畫和文字確實是緊密相連的。古人稱各種文字形態為“書體”，寫字的方法為“書法”，“書”字還被作為動詞，當“寫”講，如“罄竹難書”、“奮筆疾書”、“大書特書”等等。以後，“書”便進一步被引申為一切文字記錄。如“書信”、“文書”“刑書”、“詔書”、“盟書”等等。隨著曆史的發展，人們對於圖書的認識也在不斷地發生變化。到瞭今天，人們已經不再把一切文字記錄都稱作“書”瞭。例如文書、書信、詔書、盟書，雖然都帶有“書”字，但已不包括在圖書的範圍之內。古文記載，其內容多是記事性質的，如甲骨蔔辭、青銅器銘文等，都是屬於這一類的，其作用主要是為幫助記憶，以便需要時檢查參考，其性質相當於後世的檔案。以後人們從實踐中認識到，這些記錄的材料可以改變成總結經驗、傳授知識的工具。於是便齣現瞭專為傳授知識、供人閱讀的著作。這樣，圖書一詞便取得瞭較新而又較窄的意義。到後來，凡不以傳播經驗、傳授知識、供人閱讀為目的的文字記錄就不算圖書瞭；隨著生産力的發展和社會的進步，人們開始有意識地運用文字來宣傳思想，傳播知識，同時也逐步地形成瞭一套書籍製度，而處理日常事務的文件又形成瞭一套文書製度。於是，圖書與檔案就逐漸被區分開瞭。
