作者簡介

Michael Ondaatje was born in Sri Lanka in 1943. In the 1950s he moved to England, and went to school in south London. In 1962 he emigrated to Canada, where he has lived ever since. His books include his memoir, Running in the Family, numerous collections of poetry, and five novels. Introducer Biography: Pico Iyer's books include Video Night in Kathmandu and Falling off the Map.

曾經最喜歡的電影之一，由超級實力派的兩位演員齣演男女一號。印象最深的是艾馬殊將死去凱瑟琳從寒冷的山洞裏抱齣的那一組鏡頭，看第三遍時一下理解瞭當生命中的一些東西失去後，你會感到失去的是整個世界，無論是身份、忠誠、朋友、容貌都不再重要。

這本書的印刷質量很好，可是書角有很大一段褶皺，這個讓人心裏不是很舒服。之前看過英國病人的電影，很為之震撼，所以一定要買來原著拜讀一番
