Connell and Marianne grow up in the same small town in the west of Ireland, but the similarities end there. In school, Connell is popular and well-liked, while Marianne is a loner. But when the two strike up a conversation - awkward but electrifying - something life-changing begins.

评分##读的时候偶尔会想为何男女主角要这样的作，全然把他们当成人格完整心理健全的人来要求了， 可是世上哪里有人格完整心理健全的人，只是病态的程度不同罢了，痛苦的人都是对自己的病态有意识有认知，挣扎着想做正常人，所以才痛苦。结局倒是很温情，好不容易bittersweet的结局。

评分##我宣布我正式为Sally的粉丝，更喜欢Conversation with Friends，但是这本也很喜欢，虽然读的时候感觉有点致郁，但是欲罢不能。两本书中的人物也确实都有许多相似的地方，比如不擅长直接表达自己的情绪、热爱文学、擅长写作、还有Sally本身自己就喜欢的辩论也总是出现在主角身上。喜欢Connell，但是如果我身边有这样说话说一半的人我可能会被气死。很喜欢结局的处理。“生活肯定会继续过，但是你已经变得更好了，我也是。”的这种感觉，我反正不信这两个人会因为异地一年就把自己从对方的生活里撇去。另，好想看Sally写纯erotic小说啊！！！肯定很好看。

评分##虽然表面上看起来只是“高中大学生谈恋爱的故事”，但Sally Rooney的语言风格非常流畅，full of wit的同时又很细腻。看完聊天记录和这一本，正式成为Sally的迷妹，只是不知道何时才有下一本书。新时代“爱尔兰三部曲”？
