Giovanna's pretty face has changed: it's turning into the face of an ugly, spiteful adolescent. But is she seeing things as they really are? Into which mirror must she look to find herself and save herself?
She is searching for a new face in two kindred cities that fear and detest one another: the Naples of the heights, which assumes a mask of refinement, and the Naples of the depths, which professes to be a place of excess and vulgarity. She moves between these two cities, disoriented by the fact that, whether high or low, the city seems to offer no answer and no escape.

評分##有一種感覺，費蘭特一輩子沒走齣少女時代。 很喜歡她對於少女成長過程中腦內各種微小的疑惑與糾結的探討。並不總是粉紅色的少女心，與不知何處而來也不知如何解決的問題。 對於Roberto的幻滅處理得非常好，結尾突兀，但是也有一種乾脆的美感。 總體來說比起那不勒斯四部麯我更喜歡這本。

評分1.5倍速聽的。又迴到瞭熟悉的費蘭特的那不勒斯，這次是個更個人的中産少女對熟悉的世界祛魅和遠離，又自我和解而獲得個人成長和解放的故事。費蘭特真是又擅長描寫微妙的女性心理又總能賦予女主角足夠的勇氣和力量。男性形象倒是更接近四部麯裏的各位。13到16歲的"those ugly years"讓Giovanna“以暴製暴”地以更多lies and ugliness摧毀瞭各種幻想，逐漸做好瞭成人的準備。
評分##“I was ashamed because my parents were ashamed .” I understood that they were ashamed of my failure, maybe it was the only feeling they still had in common.孩子感受到的纔是真實的，被隱藏起來的感受。Lies, lies, adults forbid them and yet they tell so many.
評分##整個故事都挺磨嘰，一個手鏈翻來覆去寫。唯一喜歡的地方是點齣瞭成年人如何根據自己的喜惡（他們稱其為道德）來操縱孩子。自己在桌上聊世界，在桌下偷情。和妞妞相處過之後，對書裏麵那種大人的虛僞更有感觸瞭。
