具体描述
A dentist lies murdered at his Harley Street practice...The dentist was found with a blackened hole below his right temple. A pistol lay on the floor near his outflung right hand. Later, one of his patients was found dead from a lethal dose of local anaesthetic. A clear case of murder and suicide. But why would a dentist commit a crime in the middle of a busy day of appointments? A shoe buckle holds the key to the mystery. 评分##这是一本特别疲倦的书，或许是因为作者身边的战争氛围吧，不仅波洛一次又一次地在故事里说他自己像个老人，他的很多行为看上去也确实像个老人了。而结尾Blunt俯首认罪那一段根本疲惫得无法重读第二遍。——这是那种看着这世界一点一点逝去却无能为力的疲惫感，你只能对后来人挥挥手，告诉他们这世界是你们的了，请让它还有自由和同情，然后等他们回过头来看着还站在这里的我，没有什么还可以做。 还要说的是Barnes先生最后承认“因为我是Chapman，而我从未娶妻”那一段，简直是波洛系列看到现在最合我心意的结尾，一句话便余味无穷，满满都是电影似的画面感。
