具体描述
A dentist lies murdered at his Harley Street practice...The dentist was found with a blackened hole below his right temple. A pistol lay on the floor near his outflung right hand. Later, one of his patients was found dead from a lethal dose of local anaesthetic. A clear case of murder and suicide. But why would a dentist commit a crime in the middle of a busy day of appointments? A shoe buckle holds the key to the mystery. ##早先读过中文版，居然已经不记得剧情，也不记得凶手是谁。可见这本书——太复杂，太多旁支错节，有故弄玄虚之嫌。
评分##冒名顶替，各种看似无关的线索纠结在一起，幸好有老好波罗抽丝剥茧。阿婆很喜欢用童谣和俚语啊。
评分##故事有点太简单了⋯⋯感觉案件复杂程度还不如阿婆的一些小短篇⋯⋯不过第一次看到阿婆抨击老旧势力也实在是很难得的（她的好多作品譬如destination unknown和they came to Baghdad都视挑战旧势力的新思想为洪水猛兽）

评分##总有“人上人”觉得这个社会的底层人是可有可无，甚至自大地觉得他们精英才配活着，真可笑。最后凶手还“慷慨”地给了波洛一个选择，波洛这么固执的人怎么可能被收买，于是凶手把自己作死透了。
评分##刚好在等看牙医的时候看完了这本书，不过没有波罗那么幸运啦
