William Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest playwright the world has seen. He produced an astonishing amount of work; 37 plays, 154 sonnets, and 5 poems. He died on 23rd April 1616, aged 52, and was buried in the Holy Trinity Church, Stratford.

　　　　梁实秋平生主要有三大成就：一是文学创作与文学评论，他出版的散文、小品、杂文集多达20多种；二是编纂英汉词典，他编写了30多种英汉字典、词典及英文教科书；三是翻译《莎士比亚全集》，这也是耗时最长、用精力最大的一项工程。可以说梁实秋不愧为一代文学大师、翻译大师。然而，新中国成立后，梁实秋的作品并没有在内地继续出版，这是有历史原因的。

　　　　解放后，梁实秋的名字是与“丧家的资本家的‘乏’走狗”联系在一起的，尽管梁实秋翻译和出版莎士比亚的戏剧都比朱生豪早，但梁实秋的译本并没有在内地流传。1954年人民文学出版社出版了朱生豪翻译的《莎士比亚戏剧集》，共12卷，收莎士比亚31部戏剧，此后内地一直沿用这个译本。1978年人民文学出版社又以朱生豪译本为基础，经方平等人补译，出版了《莎士比亚全集》11卷，所收剧目37部，现在流行的就是这个版本。然而，梁实秋翻译的《莎士比亚全集》不仅历时长、工程大，而且尚有鲜为人知的奇特经历。

书是进口的 且是全新的 科林斯的版本 是值得收藏的 但是在运输过程中 把这书弄坏了 我也懒得退货了 封面上破了一处 侧页有些脏 厚厚的一本 所有的剧本和十四行诗都收录了 像一块小砖头 字体比较小 可以做工具书吧
