評分##這本書清楚地嚮受西式教育的人解釋瞭佛教的基本教義，即意識與思想是分開的，思想受製於環境，是暫時的，而意識是恒常的對宇宙的自覺。我們錯誤地把兩者等同起來，從而執著於一個被環境綁架的自我。而覺悟就是分開兩者，打破自我的幻象，獲得自由。不敢相信我真的是到今天纔知道佛教在說什麼。。。
評分##Sam Harris 真的令人崇拜。不僅是他跨學科的視角，還有願意把自己作為靶心的勇氣。如果更多的科學界人士能像他這樣理智看待爭議，積極打開話題就好瞭。（Sam 的語言精準又風趣，組織也特彆好，聽他說話整個人都平靜瞭。自從知道瞭他，傢務乾起來也開心好多。）
評分##Parts of it are not as easy to grasp. I also got the audio-book and I overlapped reading and listening on certain sections in order to better absorb the content. A refreshing and interesting exposition into metaphysical topics of consciousness and self. Sam Harris is always stimulating.
評分##Learned a lot. Sam Harris的文字很有靈氣，相比之下他無比monotone的聲音要遜色許多。「We are always and everywhere in the presence of reality. The human mind is the most complex and subtle expression of reality we have thus far encountered.」

評分##就…遣詞造句過於艱深（掉書袋），讓我第一遍艱難啃完後想再迴頭把前三章再精讀一遍的決心都在第二章耗費完瞭…內容是好的，不過這是我從Vipassana迴來後纔讀的就沒有太多的新鮮感。看到@學霸貓 已經把此書翻譯成中文瞭，希望有機會讀讀看閱讀體驗是否更好。
