Made into a film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a masterly portrayal of family tensions and individuals trapped in prisons of their own making.

评分##就是这一本把，问Vojta借的，每天早上翻几页也翻了半个月。每个人都是热铁皮上的猫把。Big mama,Big daddy,magrite,brick,~~还有那种在烫脚铁皮上的关系。Brick和Magrite,Big mama和Big daddy这种关系都是悲剧把。爱情，亲情。
评分##谁能比在烫铁皮屋顶的猫更焦躁不安，我们都在等我们脑中的click。一场关于癌症、遗产、爱情、家庭、同性恋、酗酒和欺骗的生日会，典型的偶合家庭，各怀所图，或单纯或贪婪或绝望，人之常情的复杂性，矛盾鲜明却引而不发。前两幕可谓intense到极致，第三幕的两个版本个人更喜欢第一个，这是个不需要温情的剧本。 没买到中译本，只好读原版，剧情过于流畅和紧张使得频频的错字和缩写也不是什么阅读大问题。只是不明白这个写在1954年的剧本为何跟网上分类到儿童读物里面了。
评分##第二幕对the difficulty of communication的展现太神了……mendacity! Plot 太差靠台词救，第二幕救回来了第三幕两个版本都不行。
评分##感觉ACT III 是败笔，前两幕看的很爽
评分##还是更喜欢《欲望》，那部里面冲突的核心没有这里具象化，可能我更喜欢戏剧里那种个人或某一特殊群体的绝境吧。Brick有点让我想起Hemingway那些主人公，the additional charm of that cool air of detachment that people who have gicen up the struggle, 不过他是被动的。包括Maggie the cat，这部是关于一种焦灼，从现实来的胁迫感。
