The economy was booming. People had more money than they knew what to do with. And then the earthquake struck. For the characters in After the Quake, the Kobe earthquake is an echo from a past they buried long ago. Katagiri returns home to find a giant frog in his apartment on a mission to save Tokyo from a massive burrowing worm. 'When he gets angry, he causes earthquakes,' says Frog. 'And right now he is very, very angry'.

评分##村上春树的短篇小说是凭意像取胜的，像诗歌里的意像一样新颖，准确，例如《UFO》里空空的包裹，《Super frog》里的无私无畏的大青蛙，《Thailand》里长在身体里的石头（如果你有秘密，身体就会有石头）《landscape with Flatiron》里的bonefire，想到这个意像小说已经成功一半了。阅读村上春树的短篇小说非常愉快，所以通常读完沉重的书就读一本。
评分##i'll try to be less cynical, not a bad collection, there are some stories i liked a lot, actually ... wow.
评分##依旧最喜欢最后两个故事，村上为数不多的可爱的作品。
评分##《神的孩子都跳舞》。从小说奇异的描述中我们看到灾难对日本人的影响：因为灾难一切都变得不可预测，所以享乐主义也无可厚非。灾难创造一个突破口，从前深藏在心底不敢表述的，在目睹了生命的脆弱之后，也倒坦然面对、渲泄、转折了。而灾难有时又是有积极意义的，使在金钱欲望驱使下变得分裂自私的社会人重新聚集起来、发现彼此的存在，共同努力。虽然这样的聚集是短暂的，而人的记忆也那么脆弱与模糊。

评分##虽然写的故事不算幸福，但是整体给人感觉却很温暖。其实还是很上进的。
