The economy was booming. People had more money than they knew what to do with. And then the earthquake struck. For the characters in After the Quake, the Kobe earthquake is an echo from a past they buried long ago. Should he contact them? Miyake left his family in Kobe to make midnight bonfires on a beach hundreds of miles away. Fourteen-year-old Sala has nightmares that the Earthquake Man is trying to stuff her inside a little box. Katagiri returns home to find a giant frog in his apartment on a mission to save Tokyo from a massive burrowing worm. 'When he gets angry, he causes earthquakes,' says Frog. 'And right now he is very, very angry'.

##地震之後讀《地震之後》。
評分##看瞭看上次的標記，已經距離第一次讀過去瞭快十年瞭。真是可怕。其實村上的短故事比他的長篇文學性要好。他長篇真的掌控不好符號的結構和故事的推進。倒是短篇最後的反轉永遠特彆帥氣。
評分##真的是就怕貨比貨，同時在讀科塔薩爾，都是爵士愛好者，差距咋就這麼大呢，當然這本即使比村上自己的《盲女睡柳》那個集子也是差瞭一大截 太多刻意經營的成分 不過有幾篇的中心意象還是不錯的，比如搖鈴做愛(躲熊)，海邊燃起的篝火，月下起舞，夢見可以祛除心魔的蛇，最後兩篇彆人說好，我反而無感

評分##《神的孩子都跳舞》。從小說奇異的描述中我們看到災難對日本人的影響：因為災難一切都變得不可預測，所以享樂主義也無可厚非。災難創造一個突破口，從前深藏在心底不敢錶述的，在目睹瞭生命的脆弱之後，也倒坦然麵對、渲泄、轉摺瞭。而災難有時又是有積極意義的，使在金錢欲望驅使下變得分裂自私的社會人重新聚集起來、發現彼此的存在，共同努力。雖然這樣的聚集是短暫的，而人的記憶也那麼脆弱與模糊。
