The economy was booming. People had more money than they knew what to do with. And then the earthquake struck. Katagiri returns home to find a giant frog in his apartment on a mission to save Tokyo from a massive burrowing worm. 'When he gets angry, he causes earthquakes,' says Frog. 'And right now he is very, very angry'.

評分##看瞭看上次的標記，已經距離第一次讀過去瞭快十年瞭。真是可怕。其實村上的短故事比他的長篇文學性要好。他長篇真的掌控不好符號的結構和故事的推進。倒是短篇最後的反轉永遠特彆帥氣。

評分村上的after the quake裏六篇short story，兩篇發在紐約客，發在格蘭塔雜誌的Thailand不知道為什麼覺得很是特彆，但最喜歡的還是那篇發在GQ的青蛙君拯救東京。跑步時一直在想super frog saves tokyo這個短故事。之所以喜歡這隻青蛙，不僅因為他引用尼采和陀斯妥耶夫斯基，更因為它慈悲。當katagiri這個四十歲的loser說自己隻是eat，sleep，shit時，青蛙君說瞭讓人感動的話：整個東京隻有你纔能幫我，我就是要拯救像你這樣的人。這大緻是蛋與牆的主題瞭。即便覺得自己活得豬狗不如、瞭無生趣、一生也就這樣瞭，青蛙還是惦記著你，拼死也要拯救你，即便你從來不知道有這樣一隻青蛙拯救瞭世界。

評分##雖然寫的故事不算幸福，但是整體給人感覺卻很溫暖。其實還是很上進的。
