##The cowards never started and the weak died along the way. Best memoir I've ever read by a businessman. Just unlike so many memoirs, it's focus on the beginning years of Nike, from 1962 to 1980, and have never weighted in the success of the company in the coming years. A must read book.

评分##很庆幸在人生的这个阶段读到这本书。Phil常常提到来自童年时期以的insecurity, 以至于一次退休了的Phil和妻子在街上遇到了比尔盖茨和巴菲特，假装拉家常的时候心里还在想着自己的身家跟这两位比低了好多倍，心里有点被intimidated到。同样insecure的我读到这里会心一笑，紧接着又是一声叹息：“诶原来这缺乏安全感的毛病真是要伴随终身了啊！”但愿我能像Phill一样，借着这因为缺乏安全感而永远unsettling的心，一直追随所谓的calling。Don't stop.
评分##创业的部分就是另一本“创业维艰”。Phil Knight 在书里经常用到”He is my people”这句话，也就是他所说的有共同理想并愿意为之努力的“Shoe Dog”，到后半段觉得商业眼光判断很重要，识人更重要。被 Phil 四处差遣灭火和发展新业务的 Johnson，坐着轮椅照样搞定展销会的 Woodell，Nike 的成功的重要原因之一在于集结了这一群 Shoe Dog. 最后 Phil 说，他发现年轻人对时局很悲观，他承认大时代和运气很重要，非常重要。可是怎么也比二战后更好，机会更多，还是一句老话：越努力越幸运。
